Who Can Join
It’s easy to open an account and become a member if you live or work in New Mexico! Becoming a member means you become an owner of your own financial institution! We have a “once a member, always a member” policy, meaning that in most cases, you remain a member as long as you like.
Joining First Financial Credit Union is easy! To open your account, you must live or work in New Mexico.

To apply in person, please visit any one of our branches with the following items:
- A copy of your current driver’s license. If you don’t have a driver’s license, we’ll need some other form of photo identification. Call us at (505) 766-5600 or (800) 342-8298 if you have questions on other forms of identification.
- An initial deposit of at least $5 to your Primary Savings account. Checks/money orders can be made payable to First Financial Credit Union.
Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
