Receive a $1500 scholarship from First Financial Credit Union!

At First Financial Credit Union, our goal is to give back to our communities through a wide variety of sponsorship and education programs. Our philosophy is "people helping people," which has been the guiding principle for credit unions since the beginning of the credit union movement. First Financial Credit Union is awarding six scholarships to graduating High School Seniors and three scholarships to current college students.


  • The scholarship committee has made the following changes to the 2020-2021 applications:• Due date to submit applications has been extended to Thursday, April 30, 2020.
  • For Graduating High School Seniors and Current College Students who have not previously received an FFCU scholarship, the three (3) reference letters will no longer be required.
  • If parent and/or student Income Tax Returns were not filed prior to March 1, 2019, the committee will accept 2018 income tax returns.

Transcripts for High School Seniors, Current College Students and Past Recipients may be submitted to the Committee once schools reopen. Note: Scholarships may be awarded prior to receiving the transcripts. If a scholarship is awarded to a student that did not meet the 2.0 GPA requirement, the student will not receive the scholarship funds for the Spring 2021 semester.

Submit your application and you could receive $750 per semester to reach for the moon! Application deadline has been extended! Submit your completed application before Thursday, April 30, 2020. 

Six scholarships will be awarded to provide financial assistance to 2020 graduating High School Seniors.

High School Senior Application

Three scholarships will be awarded to provide financial assistance to 2020 students currently in college, who have not previously received a FFCU scholarship.

Currently In College Application

Additional scholarships will be awarded to continue providing financial assistance to past First Financial scholarship recipients who are in school full-time and have maintained a 2.0 GPA.

Past Recipient Application

Requirements are as follows:

  • Must be a graduating senior in good standing, planning to attend a two or four-year, accredited New Mexico college or university, or currently enrolled at a New Mexico institution of higher learning.
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 hours and must have at least a 2.0 grade point average.
  • Parent/guardian or student must be a member of First Financial Credit Union. Immediate family members of volunteers and staff are not eligible.

A total of $25,500 in scholarships was awarded to graduating high school seniors and past recipients of the First Financial scholarship program.
